crossing back on the floor. avion delivers 2 new techno slices packed with mastermind remixes by tripeo and blind observatory. the release starts with the ‘intro‘ which brings up the mood of the record with futuristic signal bleeps and a warm analogue pad surrounded by kicking and stuttering percussions. the original of ‘centum‘ starts slowly to bring up heavy bassline surrounded by bright noises and alternating noise swirl verbed to voices highlighting partial explosions to end with bleep and soft strings. crossing 006 this time welcomes two fantastic artists as remixer and lays down ‘centum‘ to tripeo and blind observatory for their re-­&#8208,,interpretation. tripeo stays on the rough and kicking side of techno and delivers with his interpretation packed with the original strings and an analogue synth noise accompanied by a straight drumwork and cutted hi hats a kicking weapon for the floor. the myterious blind observatory takes the vibe of the original and pumped it with an acid bass to create a parallel universe built by dreamy strings highlighting the rides to lose control in the perfect moment. a real dancefloor killer.

he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

the first trackman ep went out on ideal trax in 1995, a six track, two vinyl ep spanning trippy, classic acid cuts, detroit and chicago influences, sheffield bleep and manchester hacienda rave era overtones. trackman has now been lovingly remastered and re-issued on infrastructure, with a bonus track paradise included, which featured later on the 1996 dont stop ep also a classic in it s own right.

f.s. blumm aka frank schültge from berlin has been making marvelous music for many years now. be it solo like on his latest album (pingipung in 2013) as part of the subtle folk-duo -bobby & blumm- or as a sound- scape researcher at the side of nils frahm. but even though f.s. blummbastic sees the light of day for the very first time in this release, the combina- tion of dub and blumm is not new: he is part of the quasi dub development (qdd). the collective around blumm and luca fadda from new york recently released the album -little-twister vs stiff-neck- with features by lee scratch perry or lady ann on pingipung in 2014. these -riddims and biscuits- came to live during the creation of material for future qdd-concerts. f.s. blummbastic played all instruments himself, rhythm guitar, organ and of course bass to send the results the the colleagues in new york. soon it was clear: these riddims have the most impact in their reduced form. theyd like to stand alone and get played back loudly. for the drums f.s. blummbastic brought helmut erler aka hey from hey-Ø-hansen into the qdd cosmos. not only did he bang the drums, but he has also mixed, mastered and cut the vinyl of this album.

long-time techno protagonist and figure mainstay johannes heil returns with a new 4-track package under his cryptik pseudonym. continuing the focus on a more leftfield, experimental sound, cryptik emerses the listener into a soundtrack world of rich sound, depth of field and versatile, changeable moods. by no means a simple club record, all four tracks offer subtle and rich musical content, each telling a story with beautiful melancholic melodies and rushes of endorphins. from elongated 10 minute journeys into the more reflective zones of heils techno world, snaking and building, showing off all the skills he collected over his 20 years-plus career at the top of his artform, crypik is a dance on the senses. from the cinematic elegance of >the gate<, or the bleep-laden epic of >radiance<, to the post-house piano led drama of >messenger< or the heavyweight synth swarms of >belief<, the ep is full of passion and life, capturing truly magic moments.

the mysterious duo project overall severity landed on fabrizio lapiana s attic music with an intense three track ep called -helene-, second installment of the new hurricane series. on the first side, in -vario 7288- they make an intricate journey immersed in a dark noir melody with powerful techno rhythms and plenty of alien sounds. -unable to assess- on the b-side turns into a hypnotic-linear sound focused on an obsessive and scientific atmosphere where the loopy drums light the way. an ambient flow closes this work, -emotional harm- is an evocative result of accurate sound design full of bleep, breaks and distorted chords.

part i of the sweet sadness album. four raw, analogue-drenched, deep and dubby industrial-influenced bass tracks.

kicking off with acid-soaked stepper x da05 sees the uk imprint continue to explore the darker recesses of the dancefloor. a bottom end as deep as you like combines with razor sharp percussion on this basement techno workout. the sound design of black science (version) warps the bleep techno blueprint into a swaggering half time roller before black science itself arrives. this dramatic piece merges tense, millsian atmospherics with stratospheric strings to create a timeless piece of expansive sci-fi techno. the filth ridden debris, a bottom-heavy groove for those of a serious disposition, rounds off another killer four track salvo of techno futurism from this on-point label.

the third issue of raw waxes’ release number four is on the way. after featuring mike parker, haiku, inigo kennedy and korova as remixers of the noisemaker, this time we see abstract division and blind observatory reinterpreting ‘shuttle’, the final track of the series. shuttle starts with a fat kick and a psychedelic synth, bleep and acid elements go back and forth, up and down, appearing from the gloom of the artist’ soul. hi-­&#8208,,,hats, acid and bleep evolve together, embracing acidity and generating a naughty groove. abstract division’s reinterpretation is clearly a 4/4 dance floor oriented. based on the evolution of the acid patterns as a minded loop, the dutch duo adds 909 hi-­&#8208,,,hats and claps, modify the the kick-­&#8208,,, bass structure, reaching a trusted track for exciting moments into clubs. blind observatory’s remix is the gentle side of the record. starting slowly and lightly, the artist sets a mellow synth plus clean hi-­&#8208,,,hats, turning the production into a sweet idm caress. a personal, delicate cut appraising the entire release.

dj haus goes a little freaky on the helta skelta ep. this 4 track ep show his strangely funky side with some odd and jerky rhythms and melodies. it takes its cues from the windy city but doesnt hide dj haus roots in the uk with a bleepy techno twist and pirate radio energy.

there are things in life which are suitable and things in life which aren t suitable. the things which are suitable should be ignored and left for those who enjoyed being tucked into bed and being walked across the street with their hands being held. the things which aren t suitable are what you will probably have some fun with despite the bumps and bruises suffered as a result. the suitable nature of the unsuitability of the following cheek full of tongue provided by scott robinson, ben pest, nox, and norman mueller will hopefully not cause any permanent damage along the way.

luca lozano, owner of klasse recordings presents this majestic 4-track ep on optimo trax. inspired by the past but sounding the antithesis of retro. in his own words.... the optimo trax ep was born out of a time when i was listening to a lot of old bleep house and rave, early 90s uk stuff. growing up in sheffield i was lucky enough to spend some time in warp records when it was still a record store and being around this music and the people that made it must have somehow embedded itself into my psyche. listening to pirate radio stations like fantasy fm as a teenager helped shape my musical interests as they are today and i guess this ep is somehow a reflection of that education, i wanted to make a collection of music that sounded like it was related to a certain place and time and in effect confirm my own identity within its context.

four tracks of gritty club ammo straight outta the east side torrents ... from bleep era warehouse vibes to sweaty dub to all out jak madness.

collaborations are often the fortune of timing. with andy having moved on since closing the dissident label to launching his cave paintings project to tim s departure from battant and striking out as andrew weatheralls engineer and soon to be co-member of the asphodells, an alliance was born between the two to undertake a series of live jam sessions at eachs respective studios. a love of new wave, new beat, uk bleep and detroit techno all feature in b-ultras and the aptly titled, neu beat. both cuts are heavily soaked in the pitch black, smoke machine funk and strob-laden fug of andys (and co-hort joe hart) infamous world unknown dancefloor. running at around 10 minutes the tracks are essentially an examination of acid houses ideals. clattering hats, throbbing basslines, stabbing keys and doses of 303. keeping it pretty simple but all about a pure groove on and on. backing these up is a remix of b-ultras from jamie paton that accentuates the groove and drags the acid deeper down to some b-boy dub throwdown - with more to follow from all protagonists in 2014.

the analogue cops present a fine 4 track ep for hypeltd, *in plain clothes* ep is raw, distorted and heavy, just the way we like it. the italian team have already caught our ears with releases on bass culture, bleep and their own restoration records, and collaborations with the likes of blawan, ryan elliot and alex picone.

now comes the second chapter of chaval records exclusive series with toby leeming aka third man as the main protagonist. the young british producer is the new guest to pilot this new reference of chaval records label, three cuts of techno who shows the best from detroit and techno bleep sound that shined in the british isles in the 90s. super limited pressing of 200 copies!

first up sees the new methodology track in full on dance floor assault mode - serious break-fuelled techno with rolling drums, off beat funk elements and big stabbing chords moving in and out of fx laden atmospheres at a fairly furious pace. the b side introduces yet another incredibly talented producer from the iridite stable - mike singleton is a regular dj at glasgow s internationally famous monox club as well as being one of the chief tech-heads and all round music know-it-alls at rubadub records. his track here will appeal to anyone who likes to be genuinely shaken up by a track - it s got the lot - cutting edge production techniques, heartfelt melody, intricate and complicated programming, bassline turning and twisting almost inside out, fantastic fx, but most of all >the funk<! methodology round things up with another mutant house/techno hybrid track - all shuffly percussion, filtered samples and a mournful, string laden climax, layered with weird bleep-ing riffs and super-sub bass

alan fitzpatrick yet again doesnt disappoint with his remix of riots in london that uses delayed stabs and a rolling bass line to construct another dark peak time player. jerome sydenhams carbon dub of smoke and mirrors is heavily dynamic and uses a piano chord andthe original vocal to create an energetic vibe. cari lekebusch remix of bullet uses a phased underlying melody to really drive the track forward before the bleep melody is introduced later into the track.

so here s the second maybe tomorrow me and jon are pretty happy about this the theme s the same, all about sharing seeing as the music will do a better job of explaining itself than i will, i ll let it do the talking and i hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
